The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation has funds available to schools and school districts operating in Erie County to purchase books used by students ages 5-13. The due date for the application is Oct. 31. For information, visit www.thetowerfoundation. org.

Sheila Jones, secretary of the Amherst Lions Club, recently received the Melvin Jones Fellowship, the highest award presented by the Lions Club and named after the Lions founder. She was honored for her outstanding contributions to the Amherst, District and State Lions.
