After a successful inaugural event last October, the Winetique Festival returns to Sanborn for its second year on Sunday, Oct. 14.
Hosted by the Sanborn Business and Professional Association, in cooperation with the Lower Niagara River Region Chamber of Commerce, the Winetique will be held on the grounds of the Sanborn Fire Company, located at 5811 Buffalo St. in Sanborn.
"This year's Winetique Festival will continue the success of last year's inaugural festival and build it to be even better," said Bonnie Haskell, president of the Sanborn Business and Professional Association and Winetique co-chair. "The participating antique dealers have already tripled since last year," she said.
Beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing through 5 p.m., the Winetique Festival includes antique vendors and a selection of wines from Niagara County wineries, including Honeymoon Trail, Niagara Landing, Schulze Vineyards and Winery, Spring Lake Winery and The Winery at Marjim Manor.
Festival attendees can also enjoy a bowl of fire hall chowder, a petting zoo for children and a display by the Sanborn Historical Society.
Area restaurants and food vendors will also offer a variety of fall foods to sample. Colt45 Country Band performs from noon to 5 p.m. Don't forget about the Winetique Festival recipe contest. No need to pre-register, but all participants must feature either apples or pumpkins in their dish.
Vending opportunities are still available. For more information on vending or the recipe contest, contact Haskell at 990-6909.
