SOCCER HONORS

SOCCER HONORS - Christina Sorokon, left, and Liam Callahan of Amherst, both members of the New York West Olympic Development Program, competed at the United States Youth Soccer Association Region 1 soccer camps in New Jersey and Rhode Island. They competed against the top players from 15 states. Both players were awarded positions in the regional pool - Sorokon as a goalkeeper, Callahan as a field player. Both will train and have the opportunity to play interregionally and internationally. Both are elite players with Buffalo United Soccer Club for three years. Sorokon trains with goalkeeper coach Mike Idland; Callahan trains year round with John Opfer at Proformance Sports Training.
