Marchant donates $2,000 to SABAH programing

Anaheim Ducks center Todd Marchant, a graduate of Williamsville East High School, has donated $2,000 to SABAH - Skating Athletes Bold at Heart.

The donation will support the therapeutic ice skating organization, which serves individuals challenged by physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities.

Funds were raised through the ninth annual Todd Marchant Hockey School, held in July at the Pepsi Center.

"One reason I started this hockey school was to try to give something back to this community through charitable contributions," Marchant said.

The $2,000 donation will cover ice rink rental fees and operating costs.

Marchant, who was part of the 2007 Stanley Cup championship team, had played 10 years of Amherst Youth Hockey.
