Anniversar y celebrated at Old Red Mill

Joan and Thomas Mathews of Williamsville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner with family and friends at the Old Red Mill Restaurant in Clarence.

Thomas Mathews married the former Joan DeMarti on Sept. 21, 1957 at Holy Spirit Church in Buffalo.

Thomas is retired from the Ford Motor Co. in Lackawanna. Joan is a retired branch manager from HSBC bank.

Thomas is an avid shot-putter in the annual Empire State Games. Joan is a volunteer at Life Transitions and the library. She also loves to travel and read.

The couple have three children and six grandchildren.
