Students named semifinalists in competition

Eleven students from the Williamsville Central School District have been named semifinalists in the 2008 National Merit Scholarship Competition.

They are: from Williamsville East High School, Zinan Cheng, Hannah Delia, Kane Hsieh, Matthew Pawlicki, Raghav Phadke, Richard Sima, Katherine Tang, and Katherine Vermilye; from Williamsville North High School, Dana Gradl and Allison Lyttle; and from Williamsville South High School, Roy Henna.

These students are among 16,000 semifinalists across the country who will advance in the competition because of their high scores on the qualifying test administered last year. National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced in May 2008.
