Meetings Statler Towers event to benefit guest house The 15th annual Affaire of the Heart will take place from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26 at the Statler Towers ballroom, 107 Delaware Ave., Buffalo. The event is chaired by Beth Lenegan and includes a vacation raffle, a wine tasting and gourmet food selections. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Kevin Guest House, which serves families of patients receiving treatment at area hospitals. Tickets for the event are a $110 donation. Canisius holds grad student open house The Canisius College Graduate School of Education and Human Services will hold an open house for prospective graduate students at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 and 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15 in the Grupp Fireside Lounge on the second floor of the Richard E. Winter '42 Student Center. Information will be available about academic programs, Jesuit tradition, flexible scheduling options and the value of a graduate education. These programs include postbaccalaureate certification programs in childhood and adolescent education, which can be completed by attending class two days per week or exclusively on Saturday in childhood education. Open house set on undergrad degree program Empire State College will hold a public information session on its undergraduate degree programs at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at its Niagara Frontier Center, Apple Tree Business Park, 2875 Union Road, Cheektowaga.
