St. Benedict's JV baseball remains undefeated

St. Benedict's JV baseball team improved to 4-0 with a win over SS. Peter and Paul, 16-1, on Tuesday, Sept. 18.

Colin Tenney, Joey Wittmann, Julia Blujus and Patrick MacDonald combined to pitch nearly perfect baseball for St. Benedict's.

Paul Battaglia and Will Boerema each had three hits for the Tigers, while Jonny O'Rourke contributed a double and a single.

The game was still close in the third inning when, with two outs, Sean Klute broke it open with a bases loaded single. The Tigers went on to score nine runs to take command of the game.

The Tigers used strong pitching and timely hitting to beat Main Street rival Christ the King, 8-3, on Monday, Sept. 17.

PJ Anders and Devon Florczak combined to hold the Badgers to three hits while striking out seven CTK batters. Tenney led off the game with a long home run. MacDonald had three hits for St. Benedict's while Joey Insalaco added two hits, including a long triple to left field which scored Vince Gregory with the go-ahead run.
