Eleanor Adair, retired training director

Eleanor Adair, 85, formerly of Amherst, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2007 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach.

Born in Batavia, she was a retired director of training in the food service division of R.J. Reynolds Corporation.

She was named volunteer of the year for establishing the first soup kitchen in Myrtle Beach. She also volunteered for the Chapin Memorial Library and Brook Green Gardens. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Myrtle Beach.

She was the wife of the late Theodore C. Pietrczak. She is survived by one sister, Barbara Goodman of Tamarac, Fla.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made by McMillan-Small Funeral Home.
