Man charged with armed robbery

The Amherst Police Department is investigating three robberies that occurred on Friday.

Arrests were made by officers in two of the incidents, but the crimes appear to be unrelated.

At approximately 8:50 p.m., a juvenile male reported a small amount of money was forcibly taken from him in the lot of the Wilson Farms Store at 1820 Maple Road. A license plate number of a vehicle in which the suspect left the scene was obtained and led officers to an address in Clarence. A male fitting the suspect's description was located, and officers charged Michael Easley, 17, of Williamsville, with robbery, third degree.

At around 9:15 p.m., a delivery man for Franco's Pizza was attempting to deliver an order to a Travers Boulevard address when he was confronted by two males wearing hooded sweatshirts. The suspects displayed knives and demanded money from the victim before fleeing the scene on foot. No arrests have been made at this time in this incident.

Then at 12:45 a.m., several people having a small party in a room at the Boulevard Inn and Suites at 1951 Niagara Falls Boulevard opened the motel room door and were confronted by a male displaying a handgun. The suspect robbed the victims of two cell phones and a small amount of money. One of the room occupants was able to escape to the motel office during the robbery and called police.

Officer Mark Doldan responded and arrested David J. Wright, 21, of Buffalo, as he walked on Niagara Falls Boulevard, away from the scene. He was charged with criminal mischief, burglary, menacing, and robbery, first degree.

Both suspects arrested were arraigned and sent to the Erie County Holding Center, pending bail. The investigation of the third incident is ongoing.
