Center to present annual Healthy Aging conference Senior citizens, their family members, caregivers and health professionals can hear from speakers addressing physical and emotional health and link up with other valuable resources at the Amherst Center for Senior Services' Healthy Aging Conference, Wednesday, Oct. 3. The conference, which is free of charge, will be held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the center, 370 J.J. Audubon Parkway, Amherst. Keynote speaker Dr. Margaret Mitchell, medical director of Healthy Transformations, will speak on the topic "Little Things that Make a Big Difference." Feng shui expert Kay Mc- Daniel will address how decluttering can have a positive effect in her talk titled "Decluttering and Downsizing for Seniors." Representatives of Dash's Markets will discuss "Senior Nutrition - Quick and Easy" and offer food demonstrations and samples. The University at Buffalo Schools of Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dental Medicine and Audiology will also participate. They will provide information on senior health issues and community resources. Representatives of senior service agencies will also attend and offer information and handouts, and guests can enjoy refreshments. For reservations, call the center at 636-3059. |
