Senior resource guide available There is a solution for senior citizens who are unaware of all the services and benefits New York State has to offer them and their families and caregivers. The New York State Office of the Aging, in cooperation with local programs, has developed a resource guide, which has been designed to give older persons the practical information they need to access services and programs in their communities, and to help protect their health, safety and independence. Health care, housing, employment, recreation, nutrition and taxes are just a few of the services listed in the New York State Assembly Guide to Senior Citizen Programs offered by Assemblyman Jim Hayes, R-Amherst. "Senior citizens are entitled to special benefits," Hayes said. "This guide is designed to help them identify the benefits that can make life a little easier." To request a copy of the free guide, contact Hayes' district office at 634-1895 or e-mail hayesj@assembly.state.ny.us. |
