Alliance is launching a season of design,
architecture and heritage experiences for

and November. "Niagara By Design" is a

"Art of Architecture" photography contest,

• ART MEMBERSHIP - The
Buffalo Niagara Art Association will jury
for membership on Saturday, Nov. 10 at
Leader Artworks, Tri-Main Center, Suite
547, 2495 Main St., Buffalo.
Membership is open to all qualified
WNY artists older than 18. Artists can
drop off three two- or three-dimensional
artworks (no photography) in only one
medium at 11 a.m., with pickup at 1 p.m.
Work should be original with no
substantial instructor input, framed, and
completed no longer than four years ago.

• APPLICANTS SOUGHT -
Squeaky Wheel/Buffalo Media Resources
is seeking youth applicants for the
2007/08 Buffalo Youth Media Institute,
an intense nine-month video production
and community history project geared
towards 8th- to 12th-graders from
Buffalo and surrounding areas. Twenty
selected applicants are trained by
professional filmmakers in all aspects of
documentary production. Each youth
producer earns a $5 stipend for up to five
hours of work per week after school and
on Saturdays during the school year. The
project begins in October and ends in
June 2008 with a premiere screening of
the finished documentaries in Buffalo's
downtown Market Arcade Film and Arts
Center. Applicants are asked to submit a
letter detailing their interest in the
project, written permission from a parent
or guardian, copies of their last report
card and one letter of support from a
teacher or school counselor. The

application can also be downloaded from
www.squeaky.org. Deadline for
applications is Oct. 3. Applications

New York Artists Group is accepting
entries for its 13th annual "Artful Gifts"
exhibition. Artists who wish to
