Two classes being held at JCC

Two classes are now being offered at the Jewish Community Center.

For anyone interested in deepening an understanding and knowledge of the background of terrorism, a four-week interactive series on terror and terrorists, taught by John C. Wilson, will explore these issues, the policy options surrounding the threat to society and the efforts to combat it.

The class will be held at the JCC's Benderson Family Building, 2640 North Forest Road, Getzville and is presented by its Adult Services Department in collaboration with the Erie County RSVP Lifelong Learning Program from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 30 and Nov. 6, 13 and 20.

The cost is $15 for all four sessions. Registration is required, and enrollment is limited.

Morton Merowitz will present "Sharing Your Values With the Future," in which participants write letters to their families containing personal and spiritual values and the insights to be passed to future generations.

The class will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays, Oct. 16, 23 and 30 and Nov. 7 at the JCC's Benderson Family Building. The cost for the course is $15.

The course will be based on Israel Abraham's now-classic "Hebrew Ethical Wills" and is based on statements in the Talmud and other rabbinic writings.

During the course, participants will try to formulate their own ethical wills.

For more information or to register for either program, call Amy Stromberg at 688-4114, ext. 366 or e-mail astromberg@jccbuffalo.org.
