Girls soccer moves to 4-2
Christian Central Academy

In its second week of play, the Christian Central Academy varsity girls soccer team (4-2) beat Barker, 4-1, and O'Hara, 5-4, and lost to Depew, 8-0.

CCA's goals were spread out against Barker with four different players scoring. Junior Megan Salzman scored first with a nice assist from eighth grader Rachel Cook. Cook scored the second goal unassisted.

CCA seniors Alicia Fairclough and Katie Smith also scored unassisted goals. CCA's defense and goalie Leanne Hoppe had a shutout until Barker forward Emma Dewart netted a tally with only a few minutes remaining.

Depew played extremely aggressive and dominated CCA. CCA never gave up, but Depew's constant pressure forced CCA to struggle throughout the game.

CCA played a more disciplined match against O'Hara despite having nine regular players out of the game. CCA sophomore Faye-Lyne Noel netted two goals, including her first with a nifty pass from Smith. Smith had scored the first goal in the third minute of the game with a pass from Krissy McLoughlin. Freshman Rebekah Moser scored unassisted for CCA's second tally. CCA's senior defender Sarah Wade put in the team's final goal.

O'Hara played a disciplined game with Kayla Devlin scoring two for the Lady Hawks.
