Couple take Alaskan cruise

Samantha JoAnn Gettings married Christopher Robert Shatzel in an afternoon ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007 at St. Benedict Church, Buffalo. The Rev. Joseph D. Porpiglia officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Patricia DiVita of Eggertsville. The groom is the son of NancyAnn Shatzel of North Tonawanda and Robert Shatzel of Fort Myers, Fla.

The bride was escorted by her mother.

She wore a strapless, antique ivory, A-line gown that wrapped to the side and was adorned with pearls and crystals. She wore a pearl and crystal headband with a scalloped-edged, elbow length veil. She carried a cascade style bouquet of white and ivory roses and white Gerbera daisies, accented by rust gold mums and rust hypericum berries.

The maid of honor was Kelly Gettings, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Danielle Fortier, cousin of the bride; Miriah Allen, cousin of the groom; and Marla Healy, friend of the bride and groom.

The best man was Garrett Shatzel, brother of the groom. The ushers were James Healy, Dominic Commisso and John Kennedy, friends of the bride and groom.

A reception was held at Classics V in Amherst. After an Alaskan cruise, the couple will reside in Lockport.
