South football is back on track

Anyone who had the opportunity to see the Williamsville junior varsity football game on Friday afternoon at South field witnessed what might have been one of the most exciting, well played contests at any level all weekend. This, coupled with the varsity win on Saturday, just may have signaled the beginning of a renaissance for the Billies.

Over the past several years the program has been extremely ineffective, bordering on embarrassing. I truly believe that, given the appropriate administrative, student and community support, coach Kraig Kurzanski and his staff can bring this program back to the level of respect it has enjoyed in the past. So, let's get the lights back up and start building support for the teams so that in the coming years we can once again look forward to the tradition of a crisp fall evening of competitive Friday night contests followed by a walk up Main Street to Tino's for a pizza and coke.
