Williamsville Junior Football results

The Army freshman of Williamsville Junior Football opened its 2007 season with a 21-0 shutout over the Niagara-Wheatfield Bearcats.

Denni Gilbert paced the offense with two rushing touchdowns. Adam Dentico found Jake Huber in the back corner for the two-point conversion after the first touchdown. Mike Keenehan ran in the second conversion. Keenehan also returned the second half kickoff.

Chad Steinwachs, Jacob Schoellkopf, Robby Zabel, Scott Stone and Andrew Miske controlled the line of scrimmage. Zac Kelly rushed for 48 yards and was impressive throwing the ball.

Jeffrey Simet, Noah Milling and Quinn Keenan limited the Bearcats to 59 yards.

The 105-pound Williamsville Freshman Commandos defeated the Air Force, 15-13, in their 2007 Williamsville Junior Football League season opener.

Brendan Wynia led the offense. Linemen Cort Williams, Luis Cervantes, Braeden Gillman and Max Schectman opened holes for backs Ben Noel, Vincent Gregory, Ryan Konotopskyj and Alex Binner. They were able to score two touchdowns and put 13 points on the scoreboard.

The Commando defense held the high-powered Air Force team to two touchdowns. Defensive standouts were linemen Will Sanderson, James Mueller, Matthew Rosen and safety Hudson Milligan.
