Police Blotter

Friday, Aug. 31
• Police stopped a car on Maple Road and noticed an odor of marijuana. Trace amounts of the drug were found.
• A woman reported that her friend tore up her money and her purse and took off on Allenhurst Road. The suspect possibly had the knife used to cut the items.
• A woman reported that she was approached on Niagara Falls Boulevard by a male selling candy bars, and when she refused him, he hit her car and gave her the finger.
• Another caller reported that she was approached on Niagara Falls Boulevard by males selling candy bars. She also refused, and when she returned to her car, noticed that it had been keyed.
Saturday, Sept. 1
• A man was pinned down after threatening a teen with a knife on Main Street. Police responded and took the man into custody for menacing.
• A welfare check was requested for a man sitting slumped over on the grass on North Forest Road with a motorcycle next to him. He had run out of gas.
• Road rage was reported involving one vehicle following another too closely. The complainant reported that the other driver got out of the car and started "talking smack" to him.
• Police were asked to look for a blonde female who kept falling down and staggering while walking a dog on South Ellicott Creek.
• A motorist requested that police respond after his car was hit by a golf ball at Eggert and Lebrun roads.
Sunday, Sept. 2
• An "irate" caller from Robinhill Drive called police, wanting to know why cars were parked on both sides of the street. The complainant was put on hold for other emergencies and hung up.
• Three people on Pheasant Run Road were reportedly dealing drugs to passing cars. They were gone when the patrol arrived.
• A woman left a Transit Road gas station without paying for $35 in gasoline. Such incidents had happened a few times during the summer, but this was the first time the plate number was reported.
• On Wehrle Drive, criminal mischief was reported involving a playhouse window being broken and trash found inside.
Monday, Sept. 3
• A "party goer" was passed out on Covent Garden Lane. The person was transported to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital's emergency room.
• A Transit Road restaurant manager complained that a former employee released mice in the establishment and made threats to call the Health Department. All the mice were removed from the building.
• On Main Street, a group of youths jumped a fence to skateboard in an empty pool.
• Two suspicious men were reported on Spindrift Court. They had put on yellow kitchen gloves and were working under an older car in the driveway. The complainant thought they looked odd, as if trying not to leave prints.
• A resident reported receiving an e-mail about life insurance that implied she should be dead.
• A dog belonging to a North French Road resident killed a raccoon, and the complainant was concerned about rabies.
Tuesday, Sept. 4
• A bird's nest was on fire in a light fixture on Main Street. It was extinguished by the Main-Transit Fire Company.
• A broken-down vehicle was reported on Interstate 290, a mile before the Main Street exit. The owner couldn't find a tow company she could afford and was at home in Buffalo.
• Decorative light fixtures were taken from an apartment building on Chestnut Ridge Road.
• A complaint from Farber Lakes Drive resulted in police searching through a Dumpster but finding only garbage. A complainant said two males in a vehicle drove over the lawn to the Dumpster and threw in a small, white garbage bag that was suspicious in nature.
• On Eggert Road, a man complained that another male was walking with two loose Rottweilers that almost attacked him, and he wanted the owner arrested. The complainant was a diabetic and went home because he thought he needed insulin.
Wednesday, Sept. 5
• Police were called to Sweet Home Road where a woman in a halter top was walking down the middle of the street swearing at passing cars.
• A patron at a North Bailey Avenue restaurant complained that she paid for food she didn't get and couldn't get her money back. She called back, stating that another patron was going to get his gun. All were advised.
• A patrol car was flagged down on Transit Road for a baby that was left inside a car while the mother was shopping. Police used forced entry as the baby appeared in distress. An emergency crew responded to evaluate the child.
• On American Campus Drive, a resident reported that parts from the steering column of a vehicle were taken overnight.
• A Maple Road school needed emergency medical assistance after an 8-year-old child had an allergic reaction to food being eaten by the child next to the pupil. The child was evaluated at Women and Children's Hospital.
Thursday, Sept. 6
• On Casey Road, it was reported that someone painted a stop sign to read "go no hazard." • A man left his ATM card in machine on Sheridan Drive and someone made six withdrawals, then used the card at two other locations. Approximately $450 was withdrawn.
• A North Wellington Court,
resident complained that strange person - sex uncertain - was hanging around the home, banging on the door and ringing the bell. • On Niagara Falls Boulevard, person was observed grabbing handful of clothes and running out.
• An Eggert Road employee complained that four boys were smoking behind the building and wouldn't leave when asked.
• A Windermere Boulevard resident complained that the landlord opened the door and threw garbage into the apartment, hitting the complainant's daughter in the head.
