Donna M. Smith, former executive secretary

Donna M. Smith, 75, of Amherst, a former executive secretary at Bell Aerosystems, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2007.

Born Donna Sobocinski in North Tonawanda, Mrs. Smith resided in Amherst for the past 24 years.

After her children were grown, Mrs. Smith left Bell Aerosystems and worked at the Coachman's Inn and the law firm of Hellerer, Cuomo and O'Connor.

Mrs. Smith did volunteer work with the American Red Cross, Amherst Museum and DeGraff Memorial Hospital gift shop. She was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the DeGraff Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary Board and loved being a member of several social organizations.

She loved sports, music and American literature.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of 49 years, Benjamin J.; three sons, Jeffery J., Timothy T. and John B.; a daughter, Rebecca R.; three brothers, Dr. Robert Sobocinski and Dr. Donald Sobocinski, both of Houston, Texas; and Dr. Lawrence Sobocinski of Larchmont, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Services were held Friday, Aug. 31 from Dietrich Funeral Home and Christ The King Church.
