Stroke, osteoporosis screening comes to Clarence Center Residents living in and around the Clarence Center community can be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke. Beginning at 9 a.m. Sept. 20, Life Line Screening Radiology will be at the Vinecroft Retirement Community, 5945 Vinecroft Drive in Clarence Center. A stroke, also known as a "brain attack," is ranked as the third leading killer in the world and the second among women. Through preventive screenings, the risk of having a stroke can be greatly reduced. Screenings are fast and painless. They involve the use of ultrasound technology and scan for potential health problems related to blocked arteries, which can lead to a stroke. The screenings also scan for aortic aneurysms, which can lead to a ruptured aorta and hardening of the arteries in the legs, a strong predictor for heart disease. Also offered for men and women, is a bone density screening to assess their risk for osteoporosis. All four screenings take less than an hour to complete. The cost for a wellness package of all four screenings, including free osteoporosis, is only $129. Life Line Screening is dedicated to providing the highest quality imaging technology at an affordable rate. Its goal is to make people aware of an undetected health problem and encourage them to seek follow-up care with their physician. For more information regarding the screening or to schedule an appointment call 1-877-237-1344 or visit the Web site www.lifelinescreening.com. Pre-registration is required. |
