Farmers market a plus for community

As a retail merchant in the Village of Williamsville, I have noticed an increase in customer traffic in my store on Saturday mornings this past summer. I believe the Farmers Market at the Williamsville Mill has given my Saturday business a positive boost.

From my perspective, the Farmers Market has fostered a strong sense of community with village residents. From fresh local produce to activities for children, Saturday mornings in the village seem to be more vibrant. People are walking our sidewalks with strollers, fresh produce and items purchased from our many merchants along Main Street.

Most interesting are the many comments I receive from out-of-town people staying here or visiting the village. They see activity, they see smiling faces, and they feel comfortable here. They tell more people about our village, our Farmers Market and our many unique retailers, restaurants and merchants.

It is my hope the Farmers Market at the Williamsville Mill will continue with local support from village residents, village government and the Williamsville Business Association. Good things are happening right here in our back yard on Saturday mornings.
