Voters will decide on green space

Amherst Residents for Green Space are very pleased with the outcome of the vote at the board meeting on Sept. 4 in favor of allowing the $12 million bond for green space to be put on the Nov. 6 ballot. We would like to say thank you to council members Bill Kindel, Debbie Bucki, Dan Ward, Bill O'Loughlin and Michael McGuire for allowing the residents of Amherst to have the right to vote on this.

Green space is very important for many reasons. Why not use some of the existing buildings rather than keep using up all of the green space? If we don't do something about it now, there will be nothing left for future generations.

I hope that before people decide to vote on Nov. 6 they will have the correct facts. There is a lot of information that is incorrect being put out there by people who do not want this to pass. It makes me wonder what they are afraid of.
