Mark Freeland remembered with tribute
 | | A Tribute to Mark Freeland will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Town Ballroom, 681 Main St., Buffalo. Freeland, a local music legend, passed away in June from cancer. To celebrate his life, his talents and his contributions to the local music and arts scene, his friends and fellow musicians will honor him with the tribute. Performers will include The Fems, David Kane, Party Squad, Amungus (featuring Robby Takac), The Jumpers with Terry Sullivan, The Enemies, Kent Weber, Industry of Life Divine, Jamie Moses, Paper Faces, Veil, The Painkillers, Anal Pudding, Handsome Jack, Rhubarb, Ed Koban, Shock & Awe and many other special guests and surprises. The Fems will close the night with original hardcore punk classics. Special guest guitarists will sit in during the Fems' set, paying homage to Freeland's guitar solos. Freeland's artwork and merchandise will also be on display, along with video collages of his many performances. And if that wasn't enough, also on hand will be dancers, performance art, bagpipes, lasers, Native American musicians and former Continental DJ Bud Redding entertaining with music and Freeland mixes in between the musical acts. Tony Billoni will be the emcee.
