Summit Educational Resources makes changes for 2007-2008 school year

Restructuring has taken place at Getzville-based Summit Educational Resources, according to Executive Director Stephen R. Anderson.

"This restructuring will support our efforts to make our students and families the focus of all that we do and to more strongly emphasize our commitment to evidence-based practices," he said.

As a result of the restructuring, many key staff members were moved into new positions.

Amy Jablonski of Orchard Park was named chief operating officer and will be responsible for Summit Academy and the Early Childhood Outreach Division.

She joined Summit in 1999 and has held the positions of director of the Early Autism Program and director of Early Childhood Outreach. She is a state-licensed psychologist with a doctorate in clinical psychology.

At Summit Academy, Vicki Knapp and Janet Ide will team to lead the facility. Knapp was promoted to chief clinical director, and Ide was named principal.

Knapp, an East Amherst resident, has been with Summit since 2001 and was the director of the Early Autism Program prior to her promotion. She is a board-certified behavior analyst with a doctorate in child and development psychology.

Ide of Williamsville has been with Summit nearly 20 years. She was named educational coordinator in 1999 and held the position until her recent appointment. She is also a registered art therapist.

Also, three new assistant principals were named: Mary Belile of Williamsville, early childhood; Debbie Carroll of Niagara Falls, elementary/middle school; and Doug King of Getzville, secondary education.

The Early Childhood Outreach Division, which includes several programs within Summit, also has two new directors: Linda Koenigsberg of Williamsville, administrative director, and Kathy Honer of Orchard Park, clinical director.
