Business News The Center for Professional Development at Canisius College will offer a course for nonprofit leadership from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 15 through Nov. 5 at the college's Center at Amherst, 300 Corporate Parkway. Gilman Ciocia Inc. and Advisors Capital Management, LLC have announced that ACM's co-founder and chief investment officer will visit Williamsville to speak to area business professionals and high net worth investors at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18 at Sonoma Grill, 5050 Main St., near Interstate 290, in Snyder. This complimentary event is being provided to clients of Gilman Ciocia as well as to residents of the Buffalo Niagara region and is targeted to investors who are interested in having their own private portfolios of $100,000 or greater value actively managed. Dessert Deli, located at Maple and North Forest roads, will be a demonstrator at the third annual TableScapes fundraiser, organized by the Volunteer Foundation of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. The event is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 at Salvatore's Italian Garden, 6461 Transit Road, Depew. The TableScapes event will feature table displays from designers, florists and restaurateurs. All table tops will be available for purchase that evening. The event will also feature demonstrations by Maureen's Buffalo Wholesale Floral Market, which has a location in Williamsville. Admission to the event is $40 per person. The event was hosted by FAS President and CEO Kevin Collins. As part of the evening's events, associates purchased raffle tickets to win various prizes and to donate $500 to the Cradle Beach Foundation. Daemen College, 4380 Main St., Amherst, will hold its Environmental Summit from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Wick Student Center. The event includes displays by environmental organizations and speakers addressing renewable/alternative energy projects and environmental job opportunities in Western New York. Ciminelli Real Estate Corporation has announced the sale of 287 Commerce Drive for $1,135,000. William B. Stark, Jr., principal, and Edward McGinn, leasing manager, brokered the transition on behalf of the ownership group, 287 Commerce Drive Associated. The purchase by Synergy Tooling Systems included an 18,625-square-foot flex office building and 2.73 acres in the Audubon Industrial Park. The Skinnersville Cemetery Association Inc. will hold its annual lot owners/trustee meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17 in the White Chapel on the cemetery grounds, 490 Frontier Road, off John James Audubon Parkway, near the University at Buffalo's North Campus. AAA Western and Central New York, located in Williamsville, recently completed the renovation of the AAA Sweet Suite at the Ronald McDonald House in Buffalo, 780 W. Ferry St. A ceremony on Sept. 12 marked its completion. The suite has two bedrooms and one bath and took 150 hours to complete. The Ronald McDonald House accommodates children and families who need a place to stay while receiving treatments at area hospitals. |
