Georgetown Capital Group celebrates 20th anniversary

When Clarence resident Joseph Curatolo first opened the doors of Georgetown Capital Group on May 11, 1987, he never dreamed it would evolve into one of Western New York's most prominent financial planning firms.

The company, which is located in Williamsville, marked its 20th anniversary this past May.

"We've been blessed with a tremendous clientele that makes us want to work harder for them every day we come into work.," Curatolo said. "And I can't say enough how lucky we are to have this amazing staff that handles every challenge thrown at us."

Georgetown Capital Group was founded after Curatolo left his position as a branch manager for a regional investment firm. He launched the company with 150 of his clients and four other brokers.

Today, the company manages nearly half a billion dollars in investments for more than 4,000 clients, according to a press release.

Georgetown Capital's principal and advisers are also separately registered representatives of the independent broker-dealer Royal Alliance Associates Inc. In this capacity the group consistently ranks at the top of the more than 500 offices of Royal Alliance.

The staff at Georgetown Capital includes six licensed financial planners and seven licensed support professionals, with the average adviser having 25 years in the financial arena. In addition to a certified fund specialist, advisers have concentrations in estate planning and small pension planning for schools, hospitals and other nonprofit organizations, providing answers to almost any question.

Curatolo has received many national honors for his financial planning expertise. Among these are his induction into the inaugural Hall of Fame class by Royal Alliance Associates.

"He is also called upon by the local and national media to interpret events in the investment world and how it affects everyday people," the press release stated.

Curatolo's "Money Mondays" segment is seen on WGRZ-TV's

Daybreak" show. He was also heard weekly on the nationally syndicated Business Talk Radio Network.

The company sponsors many charitable events, while Curatolo has a special dedication to Roswell Park Cancer Institute and Gilda's Club. He also donates his time to tour and speak with groups interested in financial advice.

"I don't know where the next 20 years will take Georgetown Capital, but I promise we'll keep that same dedication to our clients and our community that helped us grow to where we are today," Curatolo said.
