Open space, golf course bonds will be on ballot

      It's now up to the voters to decide. The Amherst Town Board approved a resolution on Sept. 4 that would put the proposal for a $12 million bond on the Nov. 6 ballot. If approved by voters, the money would be used to purchase open space within the town.

Home invasions reported, delivery man held up in busy weekend for police

      At 1:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7 a woman was awoken by two men in her bedroom on Mona Drive. She was ordered upstairs to her brother's bedroom by two black male suspects. Her brother was roused and both victims were then ordered to the floor.
