WHAT A RUSH

WHAT A RUSH - The Mel Ott 16U fastpitch travel softball Hurricanes finished play in the WNY Metro Girls Softball League with a 15-3 record and the 16U division championship. They also became the first Mel Ott girls team to win a tournament, winning the Youngstown Elite Tournament in June. They also beat Clarence, 1-0, in July to take top honors at the Mel Ott Extravaganza and took fifth at the Mahanoy City All Star Invitational Tournament held in Pennsylvania in late July. Kristen Deschenes, Devin Gonzalez, Megan Land, Jesse Lewandowski, Lauren Prentice and Anna Rozansky won tournament MVP awards.
