Many returns for new Sweet Home coach With 14 players back from last year's team, new Sweet Home girls soccer coach Josh Hicks has walked into a good situation. Hicks, an assistant with Albion the past four years, hasn't had the chance to scrimmage anyone yet which makes it hard for him to describe how his team looks on the field. "We're still getting to know each other," said Hicks, who takes over for Scott Martin, now the school's varsity boys soccer coach. "I'm still playing with the lineups. I hope we get on track, try to be in shape and don't hold back." Hicks does return an outstanding goalie, sophomore Angela Williamson. Williamson earned ECIC II first team honors as a freshman. Also returning is senior co-captain defenders Laura Nerber and Jennifer Pettapice. "Both are solid players and good leaders who communicate well with teammates," said Hicks. "I'm hoping we're pretty solid in the back." Junior Sarah Williams returns in the midfield. Sweet Home begins play on Thursday at Tonawanda. "We're going to take one game at a time," said Hicks. Sweet Home's season ended last year with a 1-0 loss to Kenmore West in a Section VI Class A prequarterfinal.
