East Amherst resident named 'Federal Woman of the Year'
East Amherst resident Faith Durden was honored the Federal

Women of the Year Awards at the annual Women's Equality Day Luncheon Aug. 23.
Durden is an education services specialist for the Buffalo Military Entrance Processing Station. She is responsible for the Centralized Management of the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery and DoD Career exploration program through MEPS, which covers 14 countries.
In addition, she assists principals and school superintendents with the use of ASVAB scores in the development of local education norms for planning and appraisal purposes and presents ASVAB student testing as both a means of assisting students to evaluate education and career choices and as a viable tool for military recruitment.
Also active in the community, Durden is a member of the Board of Directors at Eastern
Hills Wesleyan Church, the Booster Club at Williamsville East High School, where all four of her children attend, and a volunteer for several community service groups.
She is currently working on a PhD. in a comprehensive phase.
