Newlyweds greet guests in Golden Ballroom

Melissa Marie Moran married Dean L. Ramirez in an afternoon ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007 at St. Patrick's Church, Lockport. The Rev. Francis Schimscheiner and the Rev. John Laurance, uncle of the groom, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Sheila Moran and John A. Moran, both of Lockport. The groom is the son of Marian and Dr. Ernest E. Ramirez of Conshohocken, Pa.

The bride was escorted by her father.

She wore a strapless, white tulle sheath gown with a shirred bodice and beaded lace appliques. She also wore a cathedral-length veil with a rhinestone headpiece and a pearl necklace and earring set given to the bride's mother on her wedding day. She carried a bouquet of cream roses, calla lilies and greens.

The matron of honor was Alexis Becker, friend of the bride. The maid of honor was Erika Nenni, friend of the bride.

The bridesmaids were Sara Shepheard, cousin of the bride; Jen Ramirez, sister of the groom; Emily Koorn and Jen Geiger, friends of the bride; and Joelle Forenzo, friend of the groom.

The flower girl was Isabela Ramirez, cousin of the groom.

The best men were Neal Ramirez, brother of the groom, and E. Patrick Curry, friend of the groom. The ushers were Thomas Moran, brother of the bride; and J. Timothy Vieira, Benjamin Forenzo, Stephen Bielicki, James Slaiman and Thomas Staebell, friends of the groom.

A reception was held at the Golden Ballroom of the Statler Towers, Buffalo. The couple honeymooned in Hawaii and San Francisco and will be at home in Clarence.
