Andrew L. Odien and Melissa A. Swiatek

Deborah A. Swiatek of Amherst and Michael W. Swiatek of Parma Heights, Ohio announce the engagement of their daughter, Melissa A. Swiatek, to Andrew L. Odien, son of Jeanina M. and Robert G. Odien Jr. of Amherst.

Miss Swiatek graduated from Sweet Home High School in 2003. She received a degree in fine art from Buffalo State College in 2007. She is a graphic designer.

Her fiance graduated from Sweet Home High School in 2001. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University at Buffalo in 2005 and a Master of Science degree in structural and earthquake engineering from UB in 2007. He is a civil engineer with TVGA Consultants in Elma and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

An August 2008 wedding is planned.
