William L. Duax, Ph.D., of Snyder attended the 24th European Crystallographic Meeting in Marrakech, Morocco, Aug. 22-27 at the Convention Center Le Palais des Congrés de Marrakech. Duax covered the meetings on behalf of the newsletter of the International Union of Crystallography and presented a paper on gene duplication and the origin of the genetic code.
Carrie A. Christy of Williamsville has joined Phillips Lytle LLP, as an associate. She is assigned to the firm's commercial practice, focusing in the area of general commercial law. She is a member of the American and NYS Bar Associations.
Mark C. Johnson Sr. of Snyder has been named district manager of Aramark Uniform Services Buffalo Depot. He was first hired in 2003 as a district manager trainee and after a brief leave joined the company again in 2006. He will oversee the acquisition and maintenance of accounts.
Allison P. Gioia of Snyder has been named as associate at Phillips Lytle LLP. She concentrates in the area of government investigations. She has served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Western District of New York. Gioia was presented with the Attorney General's Award for Outstanding Contributions by a New Employee.

Colleen Ennis Buonocore of Williamsville has been named to the board of directors for Aspire of WNY. She is an attorney with Harris Beach PLLC, Attorneys at Law. While studying at the University at Buffalo School of Law, she was a student attorney in the Special Education Law Clinic.
Justin G. Prociv of Williamsville has been hired by Phillips Lytle LLP as an associate. He focuses his practice in trial, including civil litigation matters, insurance coverage, franchise litigation and transactional disputes. He holds a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law.
