Athena Noelle Kennedy, 18, of Eggertsville, who completed her junior year this past spring at Sacred Heart Academy, died Monday, July 30, 2007 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.

Born in Buffalo, she attended grade school at St. Benedict's Catholic School in Eggertsville before attending Sacred Heart.

"The world truly lost an exceptional soul," said her mother, Gail Kennedy-Torgerson. "She was a loyal friend to all. She never smoked, took a drink or did drugs. We will all miss her smiling face and her laugh."

Ms. Kennedy is also survived by a brother, Colton Torgerson; her grandparents, George and Veronica Kirk; and other family.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered Thursday, Aug. 2 in St. Benedict's Catholic Church.

Arrangements were made by the Dengler & Roberts Funeral Home.
