Musicalfare performance to benefit Amherst MOW

Amherst Meals on Wheels will benefit from the regional premiere of "Altar Boyz," a musical review presented by Musicalfare Theatre, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Musicalfare Theatre at Daemen College, Amherst.

Altar Boyz calls itself a musical, a concert and a laugh-out-loud comedy. The Altar Boyz are a Christian "boy band" that's trying to save a few souls with witty music, hot dancing and overall hilarity.

The play is entering its third off-Broadway year and has been lauded by such publications as the New York Times, Varsity and the Jewish Journal.

The performance will include a dessert reception at 6:30 p.m. before the show.
