Buffalo's 42nd postmaster named David E. Boardman has been appointed the 42nd postmaster of Buffalo. A 26-year postal veteran, he succeeds Dennis G. Wnuk, who retired after a 32-year career and had served as postmaster for the past two years. "I am very aware that for many years, Buffalo's postal employees have been national leaders in on-time delivery performance and in customer satisfaction ratings," Boardman said. "As postmaster, I want to build on that success, keeping a focus on friendly, professional customer service and helping everyone, especially the business community, make the best use of our wide range of products and services available at retail locations and online at www.usps.com." The Buffalo postmaster is responsible for all customer service activities, including delivery, collections and retail service operations at 19 stations and branches within the 142 ZIP codes. Following service in the U.S. Navy as a radarman aboard the U.S.S. Coral Sea, Boardman began his postal career in 1981 as a letter carrier. He has held numerous management positions and was involved with the Postal Customer Council program. |
