Democratic election inspectors needed in Town The Amherst Democratic Committee seeks registered Democrats residing in Erie County to serve as election inspectors in the Town of Amherst at the next general election, to take place on Tuesday, Nov. 6. "Inspectors play an important role in making sure that elections run smoothly and fairly in every precinct in the Town of Amherst," said Craig Bucki, a member of the Amherst Democratic Executive Committee and co-coordinator for Democratic election inspectors. "Each year, we look for new Democrats who can fulfill this responsibility in the political process." An inspector must work from 5:30 a.m. through approximately 9:15 p.m., with two one-hour-long breaks for lunch and dinner. The Erie County Legislature has set the pay for one day of work by an inspector at $132. Also, every inspector must attend a training session in advance, for which the inspector will receive $25. Those meeting the qualifications can contact Bucki or Deborah Bucki at 688-0697, or by e-mail at craigbuc ki@aol.com. |
