Amherst High fall sports tryouts, mandatory meetings slated

All Amherst High School athletes who will be trying out for a fall sport are to report to the high school's South Gymnasium at 8 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 20 for an informational meeting for the fifth annual varsity gold fundraiser.

All athletes must have a physical before practice. Physicals are good for one year. For any athlete unable to obtain a physical with their private physician before Aug. 20, call the Athletics Office at 362-3020 to schedule one with the school physician on Thursday morning.

Practice began on Aug. 13 for varsity and JV football. Cross country, field hockey, boys and girls soccer, girls swimming, girls tennis, and boys and girls volleyball practices begin on Aug. 20 followed by varsity golf tryouts the week of August 25 and boys and girls gymnastics on Sept. 5.

A mandatory parent/athlete meeting for fall varsity and JV sports excluding football is slated for 7 p.m. on Aug. 20.
