Pot plant hidden in weeds

Friday, Aug. 3

• A Sable Run resident reported that someone threw a couple of bottles that exploded when they hit the lawn.

• A Greenwich Drive resident complained about two males in their early 20s who were at her door asking if she would like to vote for them.

• The occupants of a blue Mountaineer threw a smoke bomb out the vehicle on Casey Road near Transit.

• A suspicious person was reportedly lying down between Dick's Sporting Goods and Bennigans on Meyer Road. She was on a lunch break, sun tanning.

Saturday, Aug. 4

• A Travers Circle resident complained that youths hit the complainant's car with a ball and then argued with the complainant. Police reported no damage; it was hit by a soccer ball.

• On Niagara Falls Boulevard, a woman hit two fuel pumps with her vehicle and kept telling the staff not to call the police. The complainant suspected she was an illegal immigrant.

• Criminal mischief was reported on Brant Street involving flour put in a gas tank overnight.

• Police responded to Island Park on Main Street to address a dispute over benches and picnic tables. The parties were advised to contact village officials about the confusion over permits.

Sunday, Aug. 5

• On Transit Road, youths were reportedly pushing each other around in shopping carts.

• A suspicious vehicle was reported in a parking lot on Niagara Falls Boulevard. The vehicle reportedly had three license plates stacked on top of each other.

• Police were called to Glen Falls about three boys who were jumping off the falls.

• A hit-and-run accident was reported on Hampton Hill Drive. The victim was insisting paint samples be taken and the person who hit the car be found.

Monday, Aug. 6

• Police responded to an underage party on Robin Road where the owners were on vacation. The teens scattered when police arrived.

• A Niagara Falls Boulevard store reported that a woman in her 50s had been coming to the store for the past few weeks, picking up things in the store and trying to return them. The woman was also caught on tape.

• On Transit Road, someone was reportedly burning tires, and the odor was so bad the complainant couldn't open the windows. Police didn't find any tires burning, only a small fire smoldering.

• Criminal mischief was reported in Island Park, where four or five youths were damaging tables and throwing blue garbage totes in the water.

Tuesday, Aug. 7

• A resident complained that someone was prank-calling people and giving the complainant's phone number. He has been receiving hang-up calls at his house.

• Someone reported that a mirror put out in a garage sale on North Forest Road was catching the sun and causing a glare that was blinding drivers.

• A bag of narcotics was reportedly found at a Sheridan Drive business.

• On Shellridge Drive, a resident reported that all the cars had been egged overnight.

Wednesday, Aug. 8 • Five youths, possibly intoxicated, were going around Segsbury Drive, ringing doorbells and asking residents if they wanted to buy popcorn.

• Larceny was reported on Maple Road involving a large male who walked out of a store carrying a red basket with meat in it. An employee was kneeling on the man when police arrived.

• On Bucyrus Drive, someone reported a man, approximately 16-19, was shooting birds with a bow and arrow - believed to be rubber tipped.

• On Tonawanda Creek Road, youths were reportedly dismantling a brick wall, then throwing the bricks at cars and private property.

• Police and firefighters were called to Sundridge Drive where a 10-year-old child was stuck in a baby swing at the park. Fire assistance was needed to cut the child out of the swing.

Thursday, Aug. 9

• Four houses on Berehaven Drive had reportedly been hit with paint balls.

• On Sheridan Drive, a person in a motorized wheelchair was reportedly trying to race cars.

• A manager from a business on Niagara Falls Boulevard reported that a marijuana plant appeared to be growing at the front entrance among the other plants.

• A man reported for a meeting at Town Hall and made inappropriate comments to the secretary. He was asked to leave and then called back to make another appointment, stating he had smoked marijuana prior to the appointment.
