HERE IN SPIRIT - During the annual Newman Center picnic, held Sunday, Mark Elsaesser, left, Jeff Joslin, Stan Duda and Mark Ceglinski hold the uniform of U.S. Army Cpl. Matt Duda, Stan's son, who is serving in Afghanistan. Matt Duda is a longtime cook at the barbecue and sent his fatigues along with photos and a note to the cooks, saying he was there in spirit. Duda is an East Amherst resident and scheduled to return to the states in November.
