Couple celebrate 60 years of marriage

Rita and Edward Prabucki of West Seneca celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a Mass at St. Gabriel's Church, Elma on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007 and a celebration with family and relatives at the IHOP Restaurant and William and Lucille Ess Estate in Clarence.

Edward Prabucki married the former Rita Podlas on Aug. 5, 1947 at St. Valentine's Church.

Edward was employed at Bell Aircraft Company, Lumen Bearing Inc. and Berny Bros., before retiring from the U.S. Postal Service after being employed there for 25 years.

Rita worked at Sattler's, Tops Markets and Children's Hospital of Buffalo, retiring after 20 years of employment there. She volunteered during the Channel 7 fund drive for Children's Hospital for many years. The couple have six children and eight grandchildren.
