Meetings Arts council of Buffalo offers programs The Arts Council in Buffalo and Erie County has begun its process of funding arts programs and projects within Erie County. The arts council will be offering funding through its decentralization program. The DEC, which is funded by the New York State Council of the Arts, supports arts projects and programs offered by nonprofit arts and community organizations representing the artistic, geographic, racial and ethnic diversity of Erie County. The council will be offering the following programs. From 2-3:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 27 at the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society, located at 25 Nottingham Court in Buffalo, and from 2-3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the Musical Fare Theatre, 4380 Main Street, Suite 810, Buffalo. Applications for the DEC will be available at the Arts Council located at 700 Main Street in Buffalo. For more information, call Lary Cook, deputy director, at 856-7520. BNI holds accounting advantage Linda Fischer with Accounting Advantage will present "Accounting Advantage, Where the Advantages are Endless," at 7 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 17 at the Millennium Hotel on Walden Avenue in Cheektowaga. The program will be presented by BNI and is a part of the group's weekly Friday meeting. For more information, call chapter president Mary Nowak at 565-1500, ext. 206. IAAP holds workshops The Buffalo Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals is holding review workshops that run from September 2007 through April 2008. Classes will meet on various Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bryant & Stratton College, Southtowns and Amherst Campus. For more information, call 677-9500. |
