McGuire Group honors Volunteer of the Year

The McGuire Group, operator of five health care facilities in Western New York, recognized more than 200 volunteers during its 14th annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon held at the Millennium Airport Hotel in Cheektowaga.

CEO Jim McGuire opened the program with remarks, followed by a video presentation highlighting the volunteers in action and the awards ceremony. Amy DiMartino of East Amherst was honored as the Volunteer of the Year at The McGuire Group's Harris Hill Nursing Facility in Lancaster. Di- Martino has been providing pet therapy to the residents with her dog Maggie since 1998. Maggie is registered with Therapy Dogs International, Inc.

In addition, DiMartino was also chosen as the New York State Health Facilities, volunteer of the year in the adult category.

She was nominated by the staff at Harris Hill for her outstanding contributions at the facility.
