Volunteers needed at healthcare facility

Recovery Inc. to meet Saturdays

Williamsville Farmer's Market continues

The Williamsville Farmer's Market will be held from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday through Oct. 27 at the Williamsville Water Mill, 56 E. Spring St. Locally grown fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers will be available. UB to hold farmers market on South Campus

The University Community Farmers Market will operate from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday until Oct. 13 in the parking lot north of Allen Hall on the University at Buffalo South Campus on Main Street near Kenmore Avenue. Bassett Park concert series set

The Amherst Recreation Concert Series 2007 will be held at Bassett Park at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through Aug. 23. Aug. 9 has been cancelled. Aug. 14 will be The Lance Diamond Show. Aug. 16 will be The Pointless Brothers. Aug. 21 will be Them Jazzbeards. Aug. 23 will be The Jamie Moses Band. Concerts will be held at Transit Middle School in the event of rain.

ElderWood Health Care at Heathwood will present summer concerts at 7 p.m. Wednesdays, now through Aug. 29 in the backyard of the skilled nursing facility, 815 Hopkins Road. Aug. 8 will be Country Night with Lyle Stang. Aug. 15 will be Favorites from the '40s and '50s with Ken & Rita. Aug. 22 will be The Mark Mazur Band plays favorites from the '60s and '70s. Steve Songs to perform at Eastern Hills Mall

Steve Songs will perform shows at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 in the Center Court of the Eastern Hills Mall. Artyard Studio to hold art camps

Artyard Studio, 5701 Main St., Williamsville, is offering six weeks of art camps now through Aug. 24. Park School to offer summer driver courses

The Park School of Buffalo will offer two driver education programs this summer with AAA Western and Central New York. The courses are offered Monday through Friday, now through Aug. 24. Carillon Concerts slated at Calvary Church

The 29th Annual Summer Carillon Concerts at Calvary Church, 20 Milton St., Williamsville, will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8. The concert begins with the carillon artist and continues with various instrumental and vocal groups. The final performance on Aug. 8 will be Gloria Weblow followed by the Da Capo Saxophone Quartet. AYF Golf Classic set at Fox Valley

The 22nd annual Amherst Youth Foundation Golf Classic will be held Monday, Aug. 27 at Fox Valley Country Club, 6161 Genesee St., Lancaster. WABPS to cruise Erie Canal for three days

The Woman's Associates of the Buffalo Power Squadron will cruise the Erie Canal on houseboats for three days and two nights beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15 and will depart from the mouth junction in Tonawanda, where the canal meets the river. Dorothy Mallow of Amherst is the entertainment chairwoman.

East Hockey to hold golf tournament

The Williamsville East Hockey Booster will hold the fifth annual golf tournament at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14 at Arrowhead Golf Club, 12292 Clarence Center Road, Akron. The tourney is a four-man scramble and costs $100 per golfer, which includes lunch and beverages at turn, a barbecue dinner and refreshments following the tournament, and a chance to win a car. TOPS Markets will hold a 5K Road Race to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 at the National Fuel/TOPS Complex at 6363 Main St., Williamsville. New support groups set at Harris Hill

The McGuire Group will be hosting three monthly support groups for individuals caring for loved ones with Alzheimer's disease or dementia at its Harris Hill Nursing Facility, 2699 Wehrle Drive, Lancaster. On the second Wednesday at 5 p.m. will be a group for daughters caring for parents with memory impairments. On the third Monday at 5 p.m., will be a group for wives caring for spouses with memory impairments.The third Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.,will be a group for teens, between the ages of 13 and 18, who are impacted by Alzheimer's disease.

Athena Project seeks participants

The Athena Project, a research clinic that serves women who have experienced domestic violence and are troubled by stress after the violence ends, is seeking participants for free evaluations and possible treatment concentrating on alleviating signs and symptoms of post-trauma stress.
