Ear licking man reported

(Editors note: The Bee's police blotter is a sampling of unusual, sometimes humorous calls received by the police department. It is not intended to be a complete record of all incidents reported.)

Friday, July 27

• An Arlington Road resident reported around midnight that a neighbor had been mowing his lawn since 9 p.m. and the complainant could not sleep. The neighbor was advised.

• An inmate at the state prison had been placing several collect calls to a town resident in the past and had recently called the complainant to say he was out of prison and coming to look the complainant up.

• A complainant on Hidden Pond Lane reported an elderly man was following and harassing her regarding a paper cup that her daughter had thrown on his lawn. All parties were advised.

• Three males were reported going door to door selling something on Kaymar Drive but the complainant thought that they were "canvassing" the area because of the way that they were dressed.

Saturday, July 28

• A Transit Road resident did not like the smell that was being made by a neighbor's fire. The neighbor was advised to decrease the size of the fire.

• A group of youths was throwing fireworks off of the balcony at a Main Street apartment building. The subjects were later seen leaving the building.

• Patrol was called to Four Seasons East because a woman didn't like that her neighbors were washing their cars and boats in the street and that their children were playing in the front yard instead of the back yard.

• A Fairgreen Drive resident reported problems with youths playing on his front lawn. He took pictures of the youths and they started calling him names. He called patrol because he felt threatened. He also claimed that the youths did not live in the area. All were advised.

• A woman on West Sommerset Lane told patrol that three females were on her porch trying to open her sliding door when she returned to her residence. The complainant stated that she had had problems with the subjects in the past and they drove off in a white car with two children in the back seat.

Sunday, July 29

• A report came in that 30 to 40 youths were blocking traffic on Berehaven Drive and refusing to move.

• Three girls in a white car were doing donuts in the cul-de-sac on Pino Alto Court where the complainant's children were playing in the front yard. The driver was advised.

Monday, July 30

• During a dispute on Hopkins Road, one driver spit on the complainant's car then tried to back into it.

• Two large bones were found on top of an "earthen mound" in "plain view" on Tonawanda Creek Road. The report said that the bones, which looked to be an arm or lower leg bone, had been chewed at by animals

• An intoxicated male was harassing customers in a Sheridan Drive business. He hugged several people and licked one individual's ear.

Tuesday, July 31 • A Dan Troy Drive resident reported that a man she had rented a tent from was on location and yelling at her over alleged damages to the tent.

• A Callodine Avenue resident reported that a man in a safari hat had gone into the house across the street. The complainant was concerned because he does not reside there. The man had permission from the owner of the house to enter the residence to borrow landscaping supplies.

• A peeping tom was reported on Campus Drive. The complainant, who lives in the building next to the one the subject was looking in, reported that the subject was running back and forth between the front windows and the back windows.

Wednesday, Aug. 1

• A racing bike was stolen from a garage on Forestview Drive.

• Neighbors on Berehaven Drive were involved in a verbal dispute over swearing outside.

• A piece of driftwood was taken off a patio on Main Street. The complainant declined to prosecute.

Thursday, Aug. 2

• A passerby reported that all of the screens had been torn off the windows of a Vine Lane residence and that all of the doors to the cars had been open all day.

• A Dalmatian running loose on Kings Highway reportedly charged a group riding bicycles.

• A Highland Drive resident reported to patrol that he had captured a large turtle in his backyard and was keeping it in a box.

• A skunk was accidently brought into a building on Commerce Drive and had "taken up residence" in a pipe that was brought into the warehouse for fabrication.
