Cristian G. Cruz of East Amherst was awarded the Post Secondary Bronze in Masonry in the SkillsUSA Masonry Championship at the annual National Leadership and Skills Conference and SkillsUSA Championships held in June in Kansas City, Mo. He is a student in School of Applied Technology at Alfred State College.

Lauren Truesdell of Williamsville and a student at Harvard University spent time working as an editor for the travel guidebook, "Let's Go: Europe and Western Europe." The 2007 edition was released last November.
