William R. Basile of Williamsville and vice president of actuarial services and underwriting for Independent Health was recently elected to the Erie Community College Foundation board of directors. He will serve a three-year term, has more than 15 years' experience in the actuarial and underwriting field and joined Independent Health in 2006.
Peter Morris has been named a sales associate for Hahn Sales Training, which is located in Amherst. He will handle business development, as well as continued support of WNY clients. Morris has more than 30 years' experience in consulting for sales management.

David R. Adams of Williamsville has joined Hurwitz & Fine, P.C.'s litigation department, where he will focus his practice on product liability, labor law, premises liability, motor vehicle and civil trial litigation. He had 10 years' experience as staff counsel to Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.

Patricia A. Harris of East Amherst has been promoted to assistant vice president, collection and recovery services, for First Niagara Bank. She joined the bank in 2001 as a foreclosure specialist and will be responsible for overseeing bankruptcies, foreclosures and the legal documents department.
Dr. Jesenia Cruz of Amherst has been appointed chief of adult medicine, Buffalo region, for Lifetime Health Medical Group. She will serve as a liaison between adult primary care providers and the group's medical directors. She has been with the group since 2003 and will oversee the center's Reach Out and Read program.
