GEICO was named to the Ward's 50 Benchmark Group, an industry ranking based on financial results, for the 17th consecutive year. GEICO is one of only five property and casualty insurers to be selected for this recognition for the past 17 years. The company has a location in Amherst.

Linda Morgan, a housekeeper for the Beechwood Homes in Amherst, has recently been awarded the New York Association of Homes and Services for the Aging 2007 Long Term Care Employee of Distinction Award.
