Amherst company, Albright collaborate on energy savings

      It's as simple as changing a light bulb. Energy-smart changes to any space can save money and for the Albright-Knox Gallery the savings are expected to reach $1 million in a 20-year time span. Amherst based Gerster Solutions recently completed a two-year project at the Elmwood Avenue gallery.

Police remind residents to lock doors
      A Leonore Road resident startled a burglar who entered the home in the middle of the day on Saturday. Assistant Police Chief Timothy Green said a resident was working in the back yard around noon when the suspect entered the house through an unlocked side door.

Girl Scout Council names first male president
      Michael Osika of Snyder has been named the first male president in the history of the Girl Scout Council of Buffalo and Erie County, Inc.'s Board of Directors. He was named to the position at the annual meeting held at Iroquois Middle School.
